The Falkland Islands Memorial Chapel
Pangbourne College, Berkshire
Members, when you have read the article contained in Fisgardian 45 about the above chapel, you will understand that we seek donations from members to help in the maintenance of this beautiful building. The chapel has become a focal point for all bereaved families of those who lost their lives in the Falklands War. Twelve individuals who started life as artificer apprentices were among their numbers.
We hope to raise enough funds to sponsor a chapel chair, which will have a plate affixed naming the Fisgard Association as the sponsor, the funds will then be used to help keep the chapel in its present pristine condition.
Members at the 2017 AGM agreed that this method allowed all members, who wished to do so, to make their own private donation to this very worthy cause, rather than simply making a joint donation from the Association Funds.
More inforamtion on the chapel can be found on their website: falklands-chapel.org.uk.
Donation cheques sent to the Association Secretary should be made payable to "Falkland Islands Memorial Chapel".
Donations received week ending 9th June 2018
|Total Donations Received so far||£2,723|
Note: £280 + 25% gift aid equals £350, £800 + 25% gift aid equals £1000.
So far we have purchased two chairs and an entry on the Wish for a Window registry with hopefully more to follow.
